Mat C., founder of IntoPaid, in the snow

About

Mat C.

Co-Founder

Hey,

I spent ten years at Shopify as a front-end developer working in themes, online store, marketing on shopify.com, and developer docs. I also worked on the Shopify App Store and the Shopify Partners program.

These days I seasonally run Vancouver Pushpanjali Flower Farm. Custom emails and Instagram DMs piled up while we were in the field, and that’s where IntoPaid started.

I started IntoPaid because I was fed up. Custom quotes lived in three different threads. Getting paid meant chasing people down. Nothing on Shopify was built for “here’s the custom price, pay now, I’ll have it ready Saturday.”

So I made the loop I needed: inquiry → ticket → quote from the catalog → checkout on Shopify → pickup on the calendar.

I still use it myself, for every messy custom order that used to live in my notes app now lives on a ticket. That includes the small stuff, like the thank-you email that goes out the day after a shop subscribes on Basic.

Thanks for giving it a try. I hope it saves you the same chasing-around it saved me.

The product

What is IntoPaid?

A custom-order layer in front of Shopify. You turn an email or Instagram ask into a ticket, quote from your catalog, get paid on Shopify checkout, and lock pickup. Not a Shopify replacement. Customers never need an IntoPaid account.

Email · forward to inbound

Forward the messy ask to your inbound address. IntoPaid opens a ticket with the customer, item, pickup, and channel. Full product overview in Help

FAQ

Questions before you join

Who built IntoPaid?

Mat C., after ten years as a front-end developer at Shopify. He still seasonally runs Vancouver Pushpanjali Flower Farm — IntoPaid is the loop he built for that inbox.

Do you still use IntoPaid yourself?

Yes. Custom orders at the farm still land on IntoPaid tickets. He writes the product too — including the thank-you email that goes out after a shop subscribes on Basic.

Do I need Shopify? Does IntoPaid replace it?

You need Shopify today — that's how IntoPaid builds quotes and invoices from your catalog. IntoPaid does not replace Shopify. Shopify still handles Product → Cart → Checkout. IntoPaid is the custom-order layer in front: conversation → ticket → quote → Shopify checkout.

Can IntoPaid automatically receive Instagram DMs?

Not every DM. Connect your Instagram Professional account. Customers keep messaging you as usual. You open a ticket when you tag @intopaid in your reply — so only the asks you're ready to quote land in IntoPaid.

What happens when someone emails me instead of DMs?

Forward the email to your IntoPaid address (or send it there directly). It becomes a ticket you can quote, invoice, and lock for pickup — same queue as Instagram.

Can customers pay through IntoPaid?

They pay a Shopify invoice through Shopify checkout. IntoPaid creates the quote and draft invoice from your catalog, then marks the ticket paid when checkout completes. Customers do not need an IntoPaid account.

Can I use my existing Shopify products and prices?

Yes. Quotes pull live products, variants, and prices from the Shopify store you already run. No separate price list.

Can I edit an order after IntoPaid creates it?

Yes. Tickets stay editable — customer, items, quote, pickup, and notes. Send a revised Shopify invoice if the quote changes.

Does the customer need an IntoPaid account?

No. They keep emailing or DMing you. They pay on Shopify like any other invoice.

How much does IntoPaid cost?

Basic is $29/month for custom-order management. Grow is $79/month and adds win-back campaigns to bring past customers back. Normal usage is included with both plans.

Is there a free trial?

When seats open, Basic is free until your first 5 paid orders. Get early access and we'll email you — no spam.

Forward the next ask.

Join the waitlist. When a seat opens, you’ll get the same loop I still run at the farm.
