Custom order quotes

Custom order quotes — conversation first, not a storefront form

IntoPaid is for shops whose quotes start as a conversation. Capture the ask on a ticket, build the quote from Shopify, send checkout — instead of a form that never saw the DM.

Shops quoting custom work from inbox, not a product page · Early access · No spam

Sound familiar?

  • Quote forms never see the Instagram thread
  • Revisions scatter across email while the original quote is stale
  • Deposits are awkward because the quote never became an invoice

What IntoPaid does

  • The conversation is the source of the quote
  • Catalog prices stay in Shopify
  • Send checkout from the ticket, not a PDF
  • Edits stay on one numbered order

Why Request-a-Quote is the wrong starting point

Those widgets assume the shopper is already on your site and filling fields. Bridal bouquets and custom cakes usually start in Instagram or email. Ticket that message first.

Then send a real Shopify quote

Lines come from your catalog. Revisions stay on the same ticket. Payment is Shopify checkout, not a Venmo screenshot.

Email → ticket

The ask, already organized.

Same messy email — now a ticket with the customer, quote lines, pickup, and a reply ready to send.

FAQ

Questions about this workflow

Is IntoPaid a Shopify Request-a-Quote app?

No. Request-a-Quote widgets start on a product page and assume the shopper filled a form. Custom cakes, bridal flowers, and commissions usually start in Instagram or email. IntoPaid tickets that conversation, then quotes from Shopify.

How do custom order quotes get sent?

Open the ticket, pull lines from your live Shopify catalog, and send checkout — not a PDF, not a Venmo request. Revisions stay on the same numbered order.

Can I send a deposit quote instead of the full amount?

Yes. Invoice a deposit or the balance from the ticket. Hold kitchen time, kiln space, or the Saturday slot when Shopify checkout completes.

What if the customer changes headcount or flavours after I quote?

Edit the ticket and send a revised Shopify invoice. Menu notes, dietary needs, and the original email or DM stay with the order so you are not quoting from two threads.

Do quotes work for catering and cakes as well as florals?

Yes. Any custom-order shop that quotes from a message can use the same flow: ticket the ask, quote from Shopify, collect payment, lock the date.

Why not just email a price?

Email quotes go stale, deposits get lost, and there is no paid/unpaid status. A ticket plus Shopify checkout keeps catalog prices, conversation, and pickup together.

Do I still need Shopify to send quotes?

Yes. Shopify is the checkout and catalog. IntoPaid is the quoting layer in front of it for orders that did not start in the cart.
